How is the Charles Ford Retirement Communities of New Harmony Responding to the Coronavirus Pandemic?

We asked Amy Koch, Executive Director at the Charles Ford Retirement Communities of New Harmony, to tell us how the Charles Ford Retirement Communities of New Harmony is responding to the current Coronavirus pandemic affecting the world.   She explains, “At Charles Ford Retirement Communities of New Harmony, every precaution is being taken to support our residents’ health.  Never before has it been more obvious that our staff is committed to assuring each resident has the opportunity to live their best life, everyday.  We know, together, we can do this. That deep commitment has an even greater value when coping with the current situation.   “With the Covid-19 pandemic, all residential health care service providers face unprecedented challenges.   I want to reassure our community that the Charles Ford leadership and staff are taking strong precautionary measures to combat this virus.  We’re following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention and the Indiana Department of Health, while reinforcing our existing policies and procedures.  And I encourage those at home to do the same.  There are so many precautions that can be taken to support the health and safety of those most vulnerable to this dreaded virus that can be deadly for the elderly and those with pre-existing conditions.   “During this crisis, I sincerely appreciate the understanding shown by our residents’ family members who’ve sacrificed their ability to be with their loved ones while we have restricted visitation, and I am extremely grateful to our dedicated staff for the ways they’ve responded so that we have the best possible opportunity to protect our residents and to keep everyone healthy.   “Please be assured, during this and any situation, the mission of the Charles Ford Retirement Communities of New Harmony stands firm:  We are committed to providing quality residential living services for individuals who need supportive care.  We work to preserve and enhance each resident’s personal dignity and individuality, to promote and encourage independence, and to provide quality of life, while delivering professional assistance with personal and health care needs.   “When we work together during tough times, beautiful things happen.”
